Internal Link Planner

The Internal Link Planner is a fully client-side tool that analyzes your page inventory and suggests which pages should link to each other, along with optimized anchor text. Strong internal linking distributes PageRank across your site, improves crawlability, and signals topical authority to search engines — without any web crawling or data uploads.

How to Plan Internal Links

  1. Gather your pages: Create a list of your most important pages with their URL, title, and target keywords.
  2. Paste and parse: Use the format URL | Title | keywords. Keywords are optional — the tool auto-extracts them from titles if not provided.
  3. Review suggestions: Each suggestion shows which page should link to which, a recommended anchor text, shared keywords, and a relevance score.
  4. Export and implement: Download as Markdown or CSV and use it as an action list for your content or development team.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why does internal linking matter for SEO?

Internal links distribute PageRank (link equity) across your site. Pages with more internal links pointing to them receive more authority and tend to rank higher. They also help search engines discover and crawl deeper pages they might otherwise miss.

What makes a good anchor text?

Anchor text should be descriptive and include the target page's primary keyword. Avoid generic anchors like "click here" or "read more". This tool generates keyword-rich anchor text suggestions based on the topical overlap between your pages.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. Everything runs 100% in your browser. Your page URLs, titles, and keywords never leave your device. No accounts, no API calls, no tracking.

How many internal links per page is ideal?

There's no strict maximum, but aim for 3–10 contextually relevant internal links per page. Too few leaves PageRank stranded; too many dilutes the signal. Prioritize links to your highest-value "pillar" pages.
